A Root System Architecture Phenotyping Platform
Our RootXpose technology is a novel platform that combines optical imaging of plant roots with an automated image analysis pipeline in order to characterize and quantify aspects of 3-dimensional root system architecture. Plant roots are grown in a translucent gel matrix to allow non-invasive imaging under defined growth conditions. The key innovation of the platform is the sophisticated image processing, analysis and characterization of root structure. The analysis platform automatically evaluates and quantifies geometric, network, and topological features to provide information on root growth and how the root explores its environment.
